Events

1. 16th Avenue Class EA (Yonge Street to York-Durham Line)

This Class EA addresses the section of 16th Avenue from Yonge Street to Donald Cousens Parkway. The preferred planning alternatives identified for this section of the corridor are:

  • Widening for Transit/HOV (Transit Supportive Improvements) from Yonge Street to Main Street/Highway 48;
  • Operational Improvements from Main Street/Highway 48 to the Donald Cousens Parkway

This study is currently on hold pending resolution of the Town of Markham request to York Region to review the need for all 6-lane Transit Supportive Projects within the Town. The study will resume once the request from the Town of Markham has been resolved.

 

2. 16th Avenue Class EA (Donald Cousens Parkway to York-Durham Line)

This Class EA addresses the section of 16th Avenue from Donald Cousens Parkway to York Durham Line. The preferred planning alternatives identified for this section of the corridor are:

  • Operational Improvements, eliminate the jog at Reesor Road, and replace the deteriorated bridge over the Little Rouge Creek

This study is currently in progress. A Public Consultation Centre was held on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Brother André Catholic High School (6160 Sixteenth Avenue East, Markham) from 6:30 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
